Venerable Uda Eriyagama Dhammajīva Mahā Thero is a highly respected meditation master and the Abbot of Mitirigala Nissarana Vanaya, Sri Lanka’s leading forest monastery dedicated to Vipassanā meditation. Trained under Most Venerable Mātara Sri Ñānārāma Mahā Thero, he later deepened his practice in Myanmar under Sayadaw U Panditabhivamsa.
For over 20 years, Venerable Dhammajīva has been conducting retreats worldwide, guiding practitioners in Samatha and Vipassanā meditation. Fluent in English, Sinhala, Pāli, and Burmese, he has translated key Buddhist texts and is known for his clear, practical approach to deep meditative insight.

We would always encourage joining for the program in full, however, you are most welcome to join in for shorter segments of the program as well.

A simple vegetarian lunch would be provided for all participants on the day of the retreat.
Should you have allergies or particular dietary requirements, please do bring a packed lunch for yourself. So to avoid any risks that would impede on your practice on the day. -

The Day Retreat is presented as a Gift of Dhamma, made possible by the dedicated efforts and contributions of devotees who have sponsored the teacher’s visit to the UK. Participants will have the opportunity to make voluntary donations to the teacher, with a donation box available in the entrance lobby of the Centre.
